Born Selena Quintanilla (April 16, 1971 – March 31, 1995) in Lake Jackson, Texas, she was the sexy and charismatic 'Queen of Tejano music' until her premature death at the age of 23. Mononymously known as Selena, she first started to perform as a 10-year-old girl mainly fronting the family band, Los Dinos. It was the album titled "Selena y Los Dinos" that actually put the family on the map, whereas their 1992 effort "Entre A Mi Mundo" went gold.
